Priceline 40% off all Cosmetics HAUL & First Blog Post!

Hey everyone! Before I get down to my first ever blog post on my beauty & lifestyle blog, I just wanted to say welcome! My name is Sharon Noelle, I'm 17 and currently reside in Sydney, Australia. I'm addicted to all things beauty (especially makeup!!), skincare, and lifestyle. I'm also a massive drugstore makeup junkie as you'll get to know me on further!

I'm a Youtuber & student, feel free to check out my Youtube channel here: www.youtube.com/xosharonnoelle

Anyways, now that I've introduced myself, let's get down to business! Recently Priceline had their quarterly annual, or bi-annual 40% off all cosmetics sale. The sale was on for 2 days only, on the 18th Tuesday November & 19th Wednesday November 2014.

Everytime this sale happens I always find myself spending over $130... which I then justify because I've been saving a lot the past few months! The sale happens only a twice a year or so, which makes it nice to treat yourself. (Plus, think of all the savings!)

Hopefully this blog post gives you an idea for things to pick up the next time you're at Priceline, or any other time they have their sales.

If you like watching videos instead, here is a video of the haul where I summarise everything that I bought:

Here is a photo of all of the items that I purchased: the total came up to just over $130, which is pretty good considering the amount of items that I bought. 3 items I bought however, weren't 40% off as I bought them a day before the sale started and I didn't want to be annoying and return them only to repurchase them again.

(R - L top to bottom): Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz, Australis Matte Out Mattifying Face Base, Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107, Face of Australia Lip Quench in Pure Plum, Essence Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty, Essence Lipstick in 04 On the Catwalk, Maybelline Falsies Mascara, Australis Tint My Brow in Dark Brown, Australis Velourlips in NY-CEE, TOK-I-O, HO-CHI-MINH, Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium, OPI Nail Lacquer in Are We There Yet?, Essence Blush Up Blush in Heatwave, Essence Colour & Go Nail in Juicy Love, Essence Colour & Go in Kiss Me, Frankie, Essence Sparkle Sand Effect in Hello Rosy, Essence The Matt Colour & Go in Candy Crush, Face of Australia Eye Primer in Matte, Face of Australia Face Base Primer, Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Primer, Maybelline Babylips Electropop in Pink Shock, Essence Colour & Go in It's Raining Men, Essence Colour & Go in Absolute Pure.

The first makeup item I purchased was the Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz. It is a makeup setting/finishing spray infused with Aloe Vera & Rosewater. I've only worn it once and to be honest I wasn't really paying attention to the lasting power of the setting spray, so I'll have to keep using it and let you guys know how it works out. It has a lovely rosewater scent, and is super refreshing. It immediately takes out the cakeiness look to your makeup, especially with powder. It's great to refresh your makeup with, and has a first dewy finish and then stays a little more matte. The bottle itself is so large, it is 150mL so I know I'll have it for ages! This is the first item I bought that was not on sale. It retails for $14.95, which is decent for a makeup setting spray.

The next item I purchased was the Australis Matte Out Mattifying Face Base. This is my second tube, as you can tell I've enjoyed it hence my repurchase! I love to use it underneath my primer, almost like a pore-filler and also to really control the areas of my face that I get oily the most like my nose and T-Zone area. It's affordable, and I find it works well for my combination to oily skin. Its original retail price is $13.95.

Now on to the lipsticks that I purchased, the first one I purchased was the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107. It is a deeper, plum red shade. I actually don't have individual swatches and photos to show you guys, if you would like to see one let me know and I'll create another blog post and show the products with swatches individually. I personally bought this lipstick after seeing the British beauty vlogger Zoella speak about it in one of her favourites videos. Plus, I've been really into trying darker lipsticks lately. The Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks have been getting so many positive reviews, I knew I had to try it out!

The next lipstick (underneath from the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick) is the Face of Australia Lip Quench in Pure Plum. I've actually purchased this lipstick before but I lost it somewhere and I really loved the colour so I had to repurchase it. I own about 5 or 6 FOA Lip Quench lipsticks and I am in love with every single one of them. The formula of the lipstick really is moisturising and quenching as it claims, it glides on easily and has great staying power. It falls between a sheen and satin. I'm not sure what to call it but it is definitely moisturising and not dry/matte. The only thing I dislike is the smell of the lipsticks (which smell like grandma lipstick), but you get over it as the product itself is fantastic.

The next two lipsticks I purchased were from Essence. They were the Essence Lipsticks in 07 Natural Beauty and 04 On the Catwalk.
04 On the Catwalk is a nice berry rose pink with little hints of gold flecks. I used this lip colour and mixed it with the Australis Velour Lips in Ho-Chi-Minh to achieve this lip look in my Priceline Haul video:

The formula of the lipsticks are good quality considering how cheap they are. They run for around $4-5. Both lipsticks have a great sheen to it. If you want to view swatches, feel free to watch my priceline video haul that I linked earlier.

The next product I purchased was the Australis Tint my Brow in Dark Brown. I originally got this after watching Australian beauty vlogger Brittney Saunders mention this in one of her drugstore favourites video. I've used this about twice, and am using it in the Priceline Haul video as well. The product itself is extremely thick in texture. You have to use it with a very light hand, and then continuously brush your brows out with a spoolie to make them appear more natural and not as dark. It can be a little splotchey. So far, it's not amazing, but it does the job as long as you know how to use it. This is my first brow tint product. It's perfect to use if you want to quickly add colour and volume to your brows without taking the tedious time to fill them in perfectly. I've used this to quickly fill them in in the morning. I do like the product so far, and it sets like stone! Your brows dry quite hard, although they do soften later during the day. Your brows definitely won't budge using this product.

The last few Australis products I purchased were the Australis Velourlips. These appear to be lip glosses but are actually matte lip creams. I got these in the colour NY-CEE, TOK-I-O & HO-CHI-MINH. NY-CEE is a deeper red, while TOK-I-O is a bright candy purple and HO-CHI-MINH is an extremely light barbie pink. In the photo above, I mixed the Essence lipstick in 04 On the Catwalk with this matte lip cream to achieve the colour.

The Velourlips themselves can be drying. I did apply lip balm to my lips before using the product but found that HO-CHI-MINH did accentuate the drier parts of my lips. This meant I probably had to exfoliate my lips a lot more. So make sure you have your lips super exfoliated for any lip colour to look good on you! With the Face of Australia Lip Quench lipsticks, this isn't a problem as they are in fact extremely moisturising.

The next product I picked up was the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kajal Kohl Eyeliner in Nude. If you don't own a nude eyeliner already, you need to get one now! I didn't have one in my collection and knew it was an essential so I bought the Rimmel one seeing as it's a popular choice for many on Youtube. The formula of the eyeliner is extremely creamy, very pigmented and glides on so well onto your waterline. The product itself is waterproof so you don't have to worry about the product fading if you have watery eyes. Nude liners are great if you want to brighten your eyes without using a white eyeliner as it can appear too harsh, obvious and stark.

The next product I purchased was the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Medium. I love this product and can't say enough about it. I love the formulation, consistency, colour and staying power. I got it in the colour medium. It is a little lighter than my olive, tan skin tone. It isn't too obvious as a highlighter but does work well at concealing.  A good highlighter would always be a several shades lighter than your skin tone. This is a repurchase, as I've already used one concealer tube before. One of my drugstore favourites for sure!

The next product I purchased was the Essence Blush Up blush in Heatwave. The blush itself is a gorgeous ombre effect colour, going from an orange-peach to a bright baby pink. You can choose which colours to wear separately, or swirl them around together to get a very nice pigmented peachy pink. This blush is a favourite of many. Peach blushes are great for every skin tone.

Down the bottom I have a row of nail polishes. The first nail polish I purchased was the OPI Nail Lacquer in Are We There Yet? I'm a total sucker for peachy-pink colours so getting this nail polish was a must for me. I have yet to try it out, but everyone knows how great OPI nail polishes are, and for me I had no idea they sold them at Priceline! Its original price at Priceline was $10, and on sale I got it for $6. Bargain!

The next row of nail polishes I got were all from Essence. I am a massive fan of all of the Essence nail polishes. I can't say enough about how great the nail polishes are. Yes, they may be cheap at only $3.25, but honestly the formula is amazing! The brush is comparable to OPI. IT is thin, wide and flat. I just love love love the nail polishes, my drugstore favourite and ranks very close to OPI. To be honest, I reach for them all the time I do my nails!

I got them in the colour:

  • Juicy Love, which is a bright red. Gorgeous staple nail colour.
  • Kiss, Me Frankie which is a beautiful shimmery aqua, green and teal colour. This colour, turquoise/teal is definitely one of my favourite colours so I had to pick it up. I'm also a sucker for shimmery nail polishes.
  • Hello Rosy which is labelled as having a Sparkle Sand effect. It is such an amazing pink with flecks of darker pink glittter. It really does look like sparkle sand as I've never seen anything like this texture in shimmer before.
  • Candy Crush which is labelled in their The Matt effect. It is a bright fluro hot pink.
  • It's Raining Men which is a great shimmery, bright blue
  • Absolute Pure which is just a basic and essential clear nail polish.
The last few products I purchased included the Face of Australia Eye Primer in Matte, which is a nice champagne white colour. It is extremely creamy and sets to a nice matte finish.

The next item is the Face of Australia Face Base Primer with Vitamin E and Chamomille. I've heard so many great things about this primer online so I definitely had to pick it up. I love that it is infused with these two ingredients. This is something I plan to wear on an everyday basis when I use any makeup. (I don't use makeup everyday though)

The next item is the Maybelline Babylips Electropop in Pink Shock. I've owned the Babylips for a long time and have purchased several. I love the fact that they are tinted lip balms, yet are so moisturising. I also love the packaging of this so I just had to get it!

The last two items I purchased were the same, and it was the Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Primer. This product was discontinued and recently brought back. Soo many great reviews online so I had to buy the product. Plus, I love my Essence products as you guys can tell. It has a great concealer like effect to the eyelid and sets matte. I love it, it increases the vibrancy of my colours and keeps my shadows on from fading all day. Love love love!

That's all for my blog post so far, I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'll definitely be posting more, so look out for some product reviews. I may do some in depth product reviews, more on my blog than on my Youtube channel so don't forget to look out for those.

xo, Sharon Noelle.
